When you buy a ticket to the movies or to a baseball game, the cost of that ticket covers at least 100% of all expenses associated with producing that event. When you buy a ticket to the theatre, the cost of that ticket only covers 50% of the expenses associated with producing the play. Theatres are nonprofit organizations which thrive off the generosity of their donors. In order to meet our mission and provide services in our community, we must rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support. Without the assistance of community minded individuals like you, we wouldn’t be able to serve those in our community.
A night at the theatre should not be a luxury for the rich and famous! In order to cover the cost of production and administrative expenses without additional fundraising, an evening at one of Sapphire Theatre Company productions would cost $150! Ticket sales would decrease rapidly with such an expensive ticket price point and STC would lose many of its current patrons.
We realize everyone cannot afford to donate at the same level. STC keeps the ticket prices at a reasonable level in the hopes that our patrons will donate at a reasonable level in return. Whether it is a $5 or a $10,000 donation, generosity at any level makes an enormous impact on our success.
We are a federal non-profit 503(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible.
Any donor who gives $50 or more receives recognition our current playbill as well as the warm, fuzzy feeling of supporting the development of a new and outstanding theater company in San Diego!
At the $100 level you’ll receive 2 VIP passes to one show of your choice in our current season, as well as recognition in our playbill as a Star Donor.
At the $500 level you receive 4 VIP Passes to one show of your choice in our current season, as well as receiving membership in our Director’s Circle.
For a donation of $1000+ you will receive 2 VIP Passes for every production in our entire season, as well as receiving membership in our Producers Circle (Exclusive insider events for members)
You can also support an Actor directly in any one of our productions. We hope to be able to pay our actors, both Equity and Non-Equity alike and this is a great way to see the direct impact you are making with your financial contribution to our theatre company. Your Business or Individual name will be listed on the playbill as a financial supporter of the Actor you’re tied to as our way of recognizing and thanking you for contributing in this way.
You can purchase a placement for advertising in the Sapphire Theatre Company program or on our website. It’s a great way to promote your business or organization to our patrons. While reaching a large base of people for optimum advertising, and donating at the same time!
